Residents of Zaporizhzhia and the region are urged to prepare for possible power outages in the winter. Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, stated this on the air of the telethon.
When asked by the presenter about the future of electricity supply in Zaporizhzhia and controlled territories, Fedorov noted that residents should be prepared for the fact that there may be no electricity at all. "Maybe you don't like it. But let's prepare for the worst. If it gets better, it will be great," he emphasized.
He also noted that there may be problems with the centralized power supply to water pumping stations, so residents should take care of backup power sources. "We have to double reserve. Install one generator and another," Fedorov explained.
Regarding heat supply, he said that cogeneration plants are planned to be installed at all large boiler houses in Zaporizhzhia and the region, particularly in Vilniansk. The first of them will start working already in December. "Why is there a delay? Because there is a huge demand for cogeneration plants in Ukraine, and no production in the world can meet these needs," he said.
Fedorov also reported that Ukraine is turning to partners for help in purchasing cogeneration plants. "Our partners are financing us, and already on November 15, the first installations will be on the territory of Zaporozhye. The connection will take up to a month," he added.
In conclusion, he noted that schools and hospitals already have generators that will provide electricity for the educational process and medical services.
