The court took Volodymyr Maibozhenko, the head of Brovarsk RDA, into custody until June 24 without the possibility of posting bail. The sentence was passed at the request of the prosecutors after Maibozhenko committed a traffic accident, as a result of which four people were injured. His lawyer asked for 24-hour house arrest, but the court decided otherwise. Maibozhenko himself admitted his guilt and promised to help the victims.
Previously, the head of the RDA in Brovary was informed of the suspicion after, on April 26, he, being in a state of alcohol intoxication , caused an accident with four victims, knocking them down at a pedestrian crossing in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region. According to the results of testing with the Drager device, the driver's alcohol content was determined to be 2.31 ppm.
"According to the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, an official of the RDA of the Kyiv region was notified of the suspicion of a violation of traffic safety rules by a person who drives a vehicle while intoxicated (Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the message reads.
According to the data of the Kyiv OVA, as of the morning of April 27, two victims of a road accident involving the head of Brovarsk RDA Volodymyr Maibozhenko are in serious condition.
