Summer is not only a holiday season, but also a serious test for the body. At high temperatures, you have to work in enhanced mode, so it is important to help him with the right diet.
What to eat when the heat is outside
The main rule is no heavy, fatty foods. Dishes such as fast food, fried meat, smoked meats or sweet muffins will only complicate digestion and increase the body temperature from the inside. But spices, surprisingly, can help: stimulate sweating, which triggers skin cooling.
Ideally your summer diet should include:
-
lean meat (boiled or baked without fat);
-
high water vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, celery, spinach);
-
fruits and berries (watermelon, strawberry);
-
dairy products (kefir, natural yogurt without sugar);
-
cold soups (boiling, cold borsch);
-
Cereals, legumes, seeds and nuts.
But it is not necessary to overeat in the heat - it also gives unnecessary load on the body. If you do not want to eat - do not force yourself, but do not miss meals completely. It is better to break the dinner into two stages - first a light soup or salad, then a protein dish.
Be careful with ice cream: too cold and sweet, it can harm the throat, add excess sugar and fat, and cools only briefly.
How to drink water in the summer
The body loses a lot of fluid, so it is necessary to constantly replenish stocks. The Ministry of Health advises to focus on the sense of thirst, but especially to watch for children - they may not notice what they want to drink.
Dehydration signal is dark urine. If it is not light yellow, you should drink water.
What to drink
-
The best choice is ordinary drinking water. Without taste additives, salt, gas or sugar.
-
If you want something to taste - add some lemon or berry juice. But do not admire - even natural juices contain a lot of sugar.
-
Package juices and sweet sodas are away: they only add calories and dry even more.
-
Limit coffee - it is diuretic. Likewise, alcohol - in the heat, its action can be particularly harmful.
-
Dairy drinks (Ayran, serum), berry fruit and sugar compotes will be useful.
And yet - do not frighten hot tea. Paradoxically, but green or black tea in moderation can cool the body by stimulating sweating. Just do not add sugar.
Too cold drinks are not a way out. They can cause stomach cramps or even heart problems in sensitive people. The best is to drink room temperature or slightly chilled water.
