On February 9, a woman's body was found on a bench in a Berlin park. The Ukrainian embassy soon announced that the deceased was a 40-year-old Ukrainian citizen. This was first reported by the German media Tagesschau and Welt .
According to German police and prosecutors, the incident was reported at around 3:30 a.m. At the scene, officers found a woman covered in blood and dead from injuries to her upper body. A male suspect, who the victim was likely acquainted with, was also detained in the park.
The homicide department is currently investigating. Officially, German authorities have not revealed the identities of either the deceased or the suspect. At the same time, the Ukrainian Embassy in Berlin confirmed that both are Ukrainian citizens, and the case is being investigated as a possible murder and is being monitored.
The diplomatic institution noted that the embassy is in constant contact with German law enforcement agencies and provides support to the family of the deceased.
