A mass brawl involving young visitors took place in the Gulliver shopping mall in Kyiv. The incident took place right in the food court of the shopping and entertainment center and was captured on video, which was later shared on Telegram channels. The recording shows a group of young people watching the fight without intervening in the conflict. The mall security guard is also present in the footage, who does not take active measures to stop the fight.
According to one of the participants in the event, the conflict arose between his company and a group of young men, whom he identifies as representatives of the "skinhead" subculture. The young man, aged about 18-20, who asked not to be named, claims that the reason for the fight was the seizure of an electronic smoking device from him.
" About 4-6 people piled me into the middle of the hall and started beating me with their boots. They were bald, wearing black clothes. I went out for a walk for the first time in two months ," he said.
The video shows about two dozen young people, most of whom are dressed in dark clothing, fighting right next to the diners' tables.
The security guard's reaction drew particular attention. The recording shows that the guard is nearby, but does not try to break up the participants or call for reinforcements. This contrasts with previous incidents, when security guards promptly intervened in conflicts on the territory of the shopping mall.
This is not the first time that Gulliver shopping mall has become a place of mass clashes involving young people. In February 2023, a fight involving representatives of the youth movement “PMC Redan” took place near the shopping center, which was then localized thanks to the intervention of the police. In March 2023, another group fight took place inside the building. And in April 2021, about 20 young people staged a fight in the square in front of the shopping mall using a gas canister, as a result of which two people received chemical burns to their eyes.
The shopping center is located in the central part of the capital, next to a large green area and a stadium, making it a popular meeting place for young people. Law enforcement agencies have not yet officially commented on the latest incident.
Thus, another mass brawl in Gulliver once again raises the issue of safety in public spaces of the capital and the effectiveness of the response of security services.
