As of the end of May, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine analyzed the situation in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions and provided its conclusions. According to their data, Russian occupation troops are continuing their border operation in the Kharkiv region, but this cannot be considered an attempt to attack the regional center.
According to Yusov, we can state: “what the enemy planned, he did not even come close to achieving. Thanks, first of all, to the actions of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces.”.
In total, the enemy concentrated groups of over 50,000 people opposite the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
Regarding the hostilities in the Kharkiv region, the GUR representative noted that "Currently, we are seeing a border operation. What is happening is not an attack on Kharkiv.".
Regarding threats to the Sumy direction, Yusov emphasized the following.
"If there are reasons for concern, of course, they will officially report it. The situation there is well known, as are the enemy's plans and resources.".
