Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute topped the world ranking of the best universities

In 2024, Ukraine gained recognition on the world educational scene thanks to its universities, which were included in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Online Learning Rankings. This ranking evaluates universities according to the quality and effectiveness of online education and is the first global example of this kind of assessment.

Leaders among Ukrainian universities

The National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" took the first place among Ukrainian universities and one of the leading ones in the world . Its outstanding achievements in online education made it the best in Ukraine, and also confirmed the high level of educational platforms and technologies used to train students.

Sumy State University is on the second step of the rating . In addition to high scores for online learning, this university was also ranked as the best in the world for performance. This shows its effective use of resources and opportunities for distance learning students.

The third position among the best universities was taken by Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin , which also demonstrated high results in the field of online education.

The Times Higher Education (THE) Online Learning Rankings 2024 is the first global ranking to assess online education based on the quantity and quality of educational resources, student engagement and student achievement. 56 universities from different parts of the world participated in this rating, including from the USA, New Zealand, Egypt and Australia.

Ukrainian universities not only maintain leadership positions in the country, but also actively gain recognition in the world. In 2024, Lviv National University became the most popular choice among applicants, and the top five also included Kyiv National University named after Shevchenko, Lviv Polytechnic University, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Sikorsky and State University of Trade and Economics.

Despite the difficult conditions of the war and the challenges for the Ukrainian education system, the institutions of the Kharkiv region maintain the leadership in terms of the number of submitted applications, confirming that education is an important priority even in the conditions of an emergency.

Ukrainian universities have once again proven that they are able to provide a high level of education and support for students, regardless of the circumstances.
