In Kharkiv, police detained a man who opened fire in one of the city's cafes. The 39-year-old Kharkiv resident opened fire with a Fort-17 traumatic pistol during a conflict with other patrons. Two men were injured in the incident.
"On the evening of February 9, the police received information that a conflict had occurred between two companies in a cafe on Petro Hryhorenko Avenue. As a result of the quarrel, a 39-year-old Kharkiv resident, who was intoxicated, fired several shots from a Fort-17 traumatic pistol at his opponents. A 48- and 56-year-old man were injured. The victims refused hospitalization," the report says.
Patrol officers and the police department's investigative and operational team went to the scene and conducted an inspection, as a result of which physical evidence was seized.
“A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the police said.
The man was detained and reported on suspicion of committing a crime.
