The main tariff official in Ukraine, the Chairman of the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine, Valeriy Tarasyuk, runs an energy business with the wife of Putin's oligarch Yevgeny Giner.
Tarasyuk, through one of his companies, is connected to PJSC "ENERGY COMPANY "SEVASTOPOLENERGO", all of whose owners - Yaroslavskaya Maryna Volodymyrivna, Altbergs Arturs, Vigants Valts and Sizerman Oleg Yuriyovich - are currently under anti-Russian sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council.
Yaroslavskaya is the wife of Yevgeny Giner, an oligarch from Putin's inner circle. The latter is wanted by Ukraine and is being prosecuted by the SBU for supplying ammunition to the Russian army.
Tarasyuk was returned to the chair of the NEURC chairman literally at the beginning of March. Although in 2022 he was dismissed from the same position for illegal manipulations in the settlement of price imbalances.
The head of the National Energy and Utilities Commission of Ukraine, Valeriy Tarasyuk, has a stake in two private companies. Tarasyuk's business partners through these companies simultaneously do business with Russians and individuals included in the NSDC's anti-Russian sanctions lists.
This is evidenced by data from open registers.
The head of the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine, Valery Tarasyuk, has a 10 percent stake in Metal Invest Company LLC and Metal Invest Steel Construction LLC. The sole partner in these two businesses of Tarasyuk is Olga Mykhailivna Spektor. She is the daughter of Mikhail Iosypovych Spektor, who until September 2015 held the position of president of the financial and industrial holding VS Energy. Ukraine intends to nationalize the latter's assets, in particular due to its connection with Russian beneficiaries.
An investigation into the further connections of Tarasyuk's main business partner, Olga Spektor, indicates that their activities still remain closely linked to Russians or individuals to whom the NSDC has applied anti-Russian sanctions.
In particular, LLC "Microcellular Technology Dent", where Spector owns 86%, had a Russian owner as of February 23, 2022.
The director of the aforementioned company, Igor Kostiantynovich Zubkov, is also the head of LLC "My Global Universe Ukraine", which to this day belongs to the Russian Dobrogayev Alexei Olegovich.
In addition, in LLC "Legal Office-Spektor", Tarasyuk's business friend Olga Spektor's partner is Spektor Lyudmila Anatoliivna. The latter is the founder of the religious organization of the Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
However, ties with the Russians do not end there.
The above-mentioned company of Tarasyuk, “Company “Metal Invest””, owns the corporate rights of LLC “Relax-Energo”. JSC “Energy Company “Sevastopolenergo” is still considered among its founders. All beneficiaries of this company are included in the sanctions lists of the National Security and Defense Council. These include, in particular, such persons as: Yaroslavska Maryna Volodymyrivna, Altbergs Arturs, Vigants Valts and Sizerman Oleg Yuriyovich.
Despite two years of Ukraine's war with Russia, the Chairman of the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine, Tarasyuk, has still not severed his business relations with pro-Russian assets, nor his ties with sanctioned individuals who appear in them.
