Bread can rise by 20% by the end of 2025 - the forecast of the All -Ukrainian Bakers Association

By the end of 2025, the cost of bread in Ukraine could increase by 20%. Such a forecast was announced by the head of the All -Ukrainian Association of Bakers Alexander Taranenko in a comment to the media.

“I will not be surprised if it happens. It goes to this, ”Taranenko said.

According to him, the main factors of potential rise in price are the rise in prices for all key components of bakery products: flour, yeast, fats and sugar. In addition, indirect costs - electricity, logistics, as well as wages for enterprises that have critical status for the economy and can book employees play a significant role.

Taranenko stressed that new requirements for the level of remuneration provide for a minimum wage at the level of 20 thousand hryvnias for such staff, which also creates additional pressure on the cost of production.

At the same time, he acknowledged that the rise in price of bread would hit the low -income sections of the population. However, according to the Association, in the total budget of the average Ukrainian family, the cost of bread remains relatively small, so the overall financial impact will not be critical.

The Association advises Ukrainians to prepare for possible changes and calls on the state to take into account the situation in forming social protection policies.
