A court in Khmelnytskyi has found a local resident guilty of distributing pornographic materials via the Telegram messenger for several months. The man pleaded guilty and reached a plea agreement with investigators.
According to the case materials, from December 2024 to April 2025, a resident of Khmelnytskyi knowingly and intentionally sent video and photo materials of pornographic content to 26 Telegram users. Law enforcement officers recorded the facts of the transfer of such materials within personal messages.
The court's decision states that the man acted "contrary to the moral principles of society and was aware of the socially dangerous nature of his actions."
The court found the accused guilty of manufacturing and distributing pornographic products (Part 1, Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to three years in prison with a two-year probationary period.
In addition, the court banned the man from teaching children or working in positions related to raising minors for two years.
The accused was also ordered to pay the state UAH 5,348.4 — the cost of conducting examinations of electronic files that he sent on Telegram.
Dissemination of pornographic materials in Ukraine is punishable by a fine, correctional labor, or imprisonment. If the distribution is made to minors, the punishment may be more severe - up to 7 years in prison.
