Ukrainian Naval Forces spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said that he and two other Ukrainian Defense Forces officers were not allowed to have lunch at the Kyiv hostel “Vshokoladi.” The administrator of the establishment justified the refusal by saying that “the military are dangerous.”.
On his Facebook page, Dmytro Pletenchuk reported on January 17 that the incident occurred in the hostel where he lives. He decided to have lunch with two colleagues in military uniform, but was refused.
“The military are dangerous,” says the girl at the hostel reception. Therefore, when I asked to have lunch with two respectable officers in uniform, they refused. When I asked to give the manager’s phone number, they also refused and were arrogant,” Pletenchuk wrote.
The staff of the institution did not provide comments, and also refused to contact the manager.
Law enforcement officers took control of the situation. The Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv noted that the information was discovered during monitoring of social networks.
"This information has been registered with the Solomyansk Police Department. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated," the police said.
The incident sparked outrage among social media users, with many Ukrainians expressing support for the military, stressing that such behavior is unacceptable in a time of war.
The Vshokoladi establishment has not yet released an official statement regarding this incident.
