The spokesman of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, said that he and two other officers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were not allowed to have lunch at the Kyiv hostel "Vshokoladi". The administrator of the institution justified the refusal by saying that "military personnel are dangerous."
Dmytro Pletenchuk reported on his Facebook page on January 17 that the incident happened in the hostel where he lives. He decided to have lunch with two colleagues in military uniform, but was turned down.
"The military are dangerous," says the girl at the hostel's reception. Therefore, at my request to let me have lunch together with two respectable officers in uniform, we are refused. When asked to give the manager's phone number, there is also refusal and self-confidence," wrote Pletenchuk.
The staff of the institution did not provide comments, and also refused to contact the manager.
Law enforcement took control of the situation. The Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv noted that the information was discovered during the monitoring of social networks.
"This information is registered in the Solomyan police department. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated," the police said.
The incident caused outrage among users of social networks. Many Ukrainians expressed their support for the military, stressing that such behavior is unacceptable in wartime conditions.
The establishment "Vshokoladi" has not yet issued an official statement regarding this incident.
