The court found the assets of the family of the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Gennady Yaremenko, totaling over 3.8 million hryvnias, to be unfounded.
This concerns a residential building with a plot of land, two cars registered to the official's wife, as well as $20,000 in cash that the couple received for joint use. The court concluded that the origin of these assets was not confirmed by the family's legitimate income.
Following the results of the case, the court ruled to recover the residential building and the land plot in favor of the state. In addition, it was decided to recover the value of one of the cars, which is estimated at 786 thousand hryvnias.
The lawsuit in this case was filed based on materials collected by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the State Bureau of Investigation. The investigation analyzed the family's income and its correspondence to the acquired assets.
The court decision was made under the procedure of civil confiscation, which provides for the possibility of seizing property whose legal origin the official or his family members could not substantiate.
