A prosecutor with millions in income: how Oleksiy Tubelets lives

The former head of the Sumy Region Prosecutor's Office, and currently the head of the department for combating human rights violations in the law enforcement and penitentiary spheres of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, Oleksiy Tubelets, openly declares a lifestyle that can hardly be called modest. Despite his official non-publicity, his wealth and income are more reminiscent of a representative of big business than a civil servant.

According to the declaration, the Tubelenets family owns three land plots in the Kharkiv region with an area of 400 m², 20,000 m² and 800 m². They also own two apartments - in Kharkiv (41 m²) and Sumy (61.7 m²), two non-residential premises of 50.1 m² and 57.5 m², as well as a residential building in the village of Murafa of 61.6 m². In addition, the construction of a new private house in Kharkiv is underway.

No less impressive is the fleet of cars, registered mostly to his wife, Larisa Vasylivna. The family uses a brand new 2023 BMW iX electric car worth about UAH 2.85 million, a 2008 Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck, a 2014 Polaris RZR XP1000EPS buggy, and even a JCB 3CX backhoe loader valued at over UAH 390,000.

The prosecutor's income indicates considerable financial stability. In 2024, Oleksiy Tubelets declared UAH 1.81 million, of which UAH 795,859 was a salary and UAH 1 million was a pension. His wife received UAH 657,897, mostly from entrepreneurship and partly from wages.

The family is also not short on accounts and cash: the prosecutor keeps 2.75 million UAH and 77.2 thousand dollars, while his wife has 100 thousand UAH and 2.2 thousand dollars in cash.

Tubelenets' career began in 2006 in the Kharkiv region prosecutor's office, where he worked his way up from investigator to head of department. Later, he headed the Kirovohrad region prosecutor's office, and in September 2020, he became head of the Sumy regional prosecutor's office. Today, he holds the position of head of the department that is supposed to protect human rights - but the declaration indicates a completely different standard of living.
