More than 471,000 people who previously arrived from Ukraine due to the war have left Germany since 2022. This was reported by Deutsche Welle , citing data from the German Ministry of the Interior .
As of January 31, 2026, this number of people left the territory of Germany after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At the same time, as of February 7, 2026, the Central Register of Foreigners recorded 1.157 million people who entered Germany since February 24, 2022 and received temporary protection.
Among those registered are about 484 thousand men and about 672 thousand women. Of these, about 305 thousand are minors. It is separately indicated that 85,266 people are men aged 18 to 26.
The German Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that they do not have accurate data on the number of Ukrainians who entered the country in January 2026. This is explained by the fact that Ukrainian citizens can stay in Germany without a visa for up to 90 days, and therefore not all cases of short-term stay are immediately reflected in official statistics.
The agency also stressed that they do not currently expect a significant reduction in the flow of refugees to EU countries and Germany given the ongoing fighting and constant Russian attacks. At the same time, they emphasized that it is currently difficult to make accurate predictions about the future dynamics of migration.
