Butter is one of the most popular products on the Ukrainian table. However, due to the high price on the market, there is a risk of buying a fake. A Ukrainian woman under the nickname @blondinki01 on TikTok conducted an experiment to show how to check the naturalness of butter at home.
To test, she purchased five different brands: “Novobavarske 82%” (Kharkiv), “Yagotynske 82.5%” (Kyiv region), “Agromol 82.5%” (Kharkiv), “Elitne 82%” (Poltava region), and “Ferma 73%” (Vinnychyna region). The test method is simple: break off a piece of cold butter and throw it into a glass of hot water (60-70°C), wait 5 minutes, and stir with a spoon.
The results were different. “Novobavarske” showed large beige fat balls that did not dissolve – this is a sign of counterfeiting. “Yagotynske” and “Ferma” dissolved evenly, the water became cloudy and had small specks of milk fat – the product is natural. “Elitne” looked good at first, but when stirred, large particles similar to vegetable fat appeared, which indicates impurities. “Agromol” showed results similar to “Ferma” – natural oil.
Such a simple test helps Ukrainians avoid making mistakes when buying and choose only high-quality and natural products.
