How will the gas tariff for Ukrainians change?

In December 2024, gas tariffs for the population in Ukraine remain unchanged. The cost of a cubic meter of gas depends on the company supplying the blue fuel. For consumers who have chosen annual tariffs, the price ranges from 7.79 to 9.99 UAH per cubic meter. The most popular supplier, Naftogaz of Ukraine, continues to sell gas at a price of 7.96 UAH per cubic meter, which will remain relevant at least until April 2025.

As noted in the GazPravda , in December there were 9 supplier companies operating on the market, 5 of which offered fixed annual tariffs, and the remaining 4 companies offered only an annual fixed price. Monthly (market) tariffs can vary significantly, ranging from 8.46 to 19.3 UAH per cubic meter, which is significantly more expensive than annual fixed prices.

What awaits consumers in 2025?

At the beginning of 2025, Ukrainians can expect some changes in tariffs, in particular in the area of gas delivery. Delivery tariffs will remain unchanged, but it is important that data on actual fuel consumption is correctly recorded. This is especially important at the beginning of October 2024, since it is during this period that the gas year ends (October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024), and the volume of gas consumed affects future payments for gas delivery in 2025.

Key points

  • Gas price: In December 2024, the price of gas for the population remains stable, ranging from 7.79 to 9.99 UAH per cubic meter, depending on the supplier. Naftogaz of Ukraine offers the most common fixed price — 7.96 UAH per cubic meter.
  • Delivery tariff: This tariff remains unchanged, but it is important to submit meter readings on time to correctly take into account the volume of gas consumption for the past gas year.
  • Monthly tariffs: Monthly tariffs are much more expensive and can reach 19.3 UAH per cubic meter.

Gas distribution tariffs will remain unchanged even during war, but it is important to consider that even tariff stability does not guarantee the same amount in the payment, as it depends on actual fuel consumption.
