As of the morning of December 31, more than a hundred buses and about 500 cars were found waiting at checkpoints on the border of Ukraine. According to the Western Regional Office of the State Border Service of Ukraine, the situation is tense, especially on the roads to Poland.
Checkpoints with the longest queues:
- "Yagodin": 4 buses (electronic queue), the passage of pedestrians and cars is temporarily suspended.
- "Ustylug": 80 passenger cars, 8 buses (electronic queue), the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Ugryniv": 5 buses, the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Rava-Ruska": 50 cars, 12 buses, the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Grushiv": 40 passenger cars, 10 buses, the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Krakowets": 215 passenger cars, 31 buses (electronic queue), the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Sheghini": 13 buses (electronic queue), pedestrians can pass in both directions.
- "Smilnytsia": 3 buses, the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
The situation in other countries:
- Slovakia:
- "Malyy Berezny" - 20 cars, pedestrians are allowed in both directions.
- "Uzhhorod" - 45 passenger cars, 5 buses (electronic queue), the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- Hungary:
- "Tysa" - 15 passenger cars, 7 buses (electronic queue), the passage of pedestrians is temporarily suspended.
- "Luzhanka" - 25 cars.
- Romania:
- "Porubne" - 5 buses (electronic queue).
- Moldova:
- "Mamalyga" - 2 buses (electronic queue).
Workers at checkpoints urge passengers to be patient due to possible difficulties with the electronic systems of control services. In addition, it is important to take into account that Polish carriers plan to block the checkpoint on the border with Ukraine until spring, which may lead to further complications and delays.
