The Prozorro portal indicates that the estimated cost of purchasing and installing air conditioners is 629 thousand hryvnias. However, the CEO of YASNO, Serhiy Kovalenko, urges Kyiv residents to refrain from using them due to the high electricity consumption, which exceeds some regional centers.
The electricity supply situation in Ukraine remains critical, and air conditioners play an important role in this, Kovalenko emphasizes in his message on social networks. He notes that air conditioners in Kyiv consume more electricity every day than some regional centers.
“You’re laughing, but air conditioners in Kyiv produced 350 MW per day. This is more than some regional centers… All of them. Business also has air conditioning. This is a cumulative jump in consumption with the increase in temperature,” wrote Serhiy Kovalenko.![]()
Yesterday, the CEO also drew attention to the problem, warning of the possibility of power outages even to critical infrastructure due to high levels of consumption.
“Think about this when you turn on the air conditioner,” he urged.
At the same time, Ukrenergo announced a tender for the purchase of air conditioners with an estimated cost of 629 thousand hryvnias. According to Prozorro, the company plans to purchase 4 sets of air conditioning systems and install them. The deadline for submitting proposals is June 11.![]()
