According to our sources in the President's Office, the conflict between the Banking and anti-corruption agencies has escalated. NABU and SAPO allegedly warned the OP about the possible publication of Timur Mindich's negotiations with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy if the pressure on detectives from the SBU is not stopped.
According to the interlocutors, the leadership of the NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office put forward a clear demand: to lift all procedural actions and "forceful escort" against detectives whom the Security Service is trying to bring to justice within the framework of its own proceedings.
Sources note that the situation for Bankova looks "extremely sensitive." In the event of a leak of audio or transcripts of Mindich's conversations with the head of state, the information blow will be directed specifically at the president. According to the interlocutors, the Office of the President is trying to minimize potential consequences and is looking for a way to "cut off the negative" and at the same time gain control over the processes in the anti-corruption vertical.
In unofficial conversations, government representatives admit that the publication of such materials will create a significant reputational risk on the eve of political decisions and personnel reshuffles. At the same time, NABU and SAPO insist that they are not going to back down, and they view the pressure on detectives as interference in the independence of the anti-corruption investigation.
