The Commission of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) for consideration of complaints in the field of public procurement has decided to cancel the tender victory of LLC Weatherford Ukraine, a subsidiary of Weatherford International, which was recognized by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) as a war sponsor. The decision was made after a complaint by the American company USA DENIMEX INC., which pointed to Weatherford Ukraine's ties with Russia.
According to the complainant, the parent company, Weatherford International, continues to operate in Russia and is a key partner of Rosneft, a state corporation headed by a close associate of Russian President Igor Sechin. The NACP added the company to the list of war sponsors in February 2024.
The AMCU found that Weatherford Ukraine provided false information about the absence of ties with the Russian Federation. During the review of the complaint, the commission found that the Ukrainian and Russian subsidiaries are under the joint control of the Swiss Weatherford Worldwide Holdings HmbH, which indicates indirect ties with Russia.
Given the above facts, the AMCU commission decided to cancel the victory of Weatherford Ukraine in the tender for the supply of equipment worth 64 million hryvnias for JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
