He wanted to escape, but he couldn't swim: a fugitive was rescued on the Tisza River

On the Ukrainian-Romanian border, border guards prevented a tragedy - they saved a man who was trying to illegally cross the state border across the Tisza , even though he did not know how to swim .

The man trusted the ferrymen, who promised him an “easy route” for $9,000. The reality turned out to be different: in the dark, he climbed into the Tisza rapids, although he did not know how to swim. The current instantly carried him 50 meters, but he managed to get to the shore. There, a new problem awaited him – he got entangled in the barriers and could not move further

– the message says.
