Even in the hottest spots on the front line, Ukrainian soldiers were not left without the symbol of Easter. Thanks to the efforts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the support of the church, over 6,000 consecrated Easter cakes reached the front line — including by drones that dropped the treats directly into the trenches.
The commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, spoke about this initiative. He published a video showing a drone delivering belts to soldiers holding the first line of defense. This is not only a technical innovation - it is a symbol of spiritual support that overcomes any obstacles.
The Easter eggs were consecrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine in St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral. They were handed over to the brigade command, units, and directly to those holding positions in the most dangerous points of the front.
“Our defenders feel in these Easter cakes not only a festive taste, but also the presence of their people nearby,” said General Nayev. According to him, these are not just pastries, but a reminder of love, prayers, and unity that help to endure even in the most difficult moments.
The symbolism of the gesture is difficult to overestimate. Easter is not just a festive tradition, but a powerful spiritual sign that supports morale and reminds us that every Ukrainian soldier has the entire country behind his shoulders.
