The international group of scientists has released the results of a large -scale study, which showed that the level of immune protection of the body may depend on the blood group. In particular, it is the ability of different blood groups to produce interferons - special proteins that play a key role in the fight against viruses and other pathogens.
According to the results, the highest efficiency of the immune response is observed in people with the fourth blood group - their body produces interferons in 92% of cases. This indicates a high level of readiness of the immune system to fight infections.

The third blood group shows almost a similar indicator - 91%.

The first group has interferon products in about 80% of cases, which provides a generally strong but slightly weaker immunity.

The lowest level was found in the carriers of the second blood group - only 40% of cases of interferon production. This may indicate the reduced ability of the body to resist infections.
The study authors believe that the results obtained can be of practical importance for medicine, in particular - for personalized approaches to strengthening immunity. In the future, these data can be taken into account in the field of prevention and therapy of viral diseases.
