Next year, the state will introduce free psychological assistance for veterans and their families, said Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina during the live broadcast of the national telethon "United News".
"Every defender returning from the front should have the opportunity to take care of their mental health. Our task now is to create an effective system of psychological assistance available to every veteran who needs it. At the initiative of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, in December the Government approved a resolution that improved the provision of psychological assistance to veterans and their families in non-clinical cases," said Yulia Laputina.
The Minister emphasized that such assistance will be free of charge and will be provided according to a three-tier system. The second and third tiers will be financed from the budget of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. The provision of high-quality psychological assistance is envisaged, in particular, in local communities where Ukrainian defenders will return.
“The Ministry of Veterans Affairs will compensate the cost of psychological assistance services provided to specialized institutions of any form of ownership, including individual entrepreneurs who provide such services. This means that next year the state will bear the costs of psychological assistance to veterans and their families, providing them with these services free of charge,” emphasized Yulia Laputina.
"Mental health is one of the main components of a person's overall health. Thanks to the fact that we will reimburse the services of psychologists who work in communities, it will be easier for veterans to seek professional help and receive it on the spot," the head of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs emphasized.
Let us remind you that Ukraine has already introduced a three-level system of psychological assistance to veterans, which includes socio-psychological support, psychological assistance, and comprehensive medical and psychological assistance, which are provided free of charge.
