In Kryvyi Rih, a minor killed his grandmother and tried to hide the crime with a fire

A court in Kryvyi Rih has sentenced a 16-year-old boy who killed his own grandmother in September last year and tried to cover up the crime by setting fire to an apartment.

The tragedy occurred in the Pokrovsky district of the city. During the conflict, a minor inflicted fatal blows on an 82-year-old woman with an axe and a dumbbell. After that, he set fire to the apartment to cover up the crime. During the fire extinguishing, rescuers discovered the body of an elderly woman with signs of violent death.

Law enforcement officers promptly detained the suspect. He was charged with premeditated murder (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, it was established that after the crime, the guy tried to set fire to the educational institution.

The court found the minor guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
