In Chernivtsi, on the night of July 29-30, a UPA flag was stolen from a flagpole on a house on Skalda Street. The incident caused widespread outrage among city residents and became a topic of discussion in the media.
“While monitoring social networks, police officers discovered a post stating that three unknown individuals stole the UPA flag from a flagpole in Chernivtsi on the night of July 29-30,” the police reported.
It is noted that this is a building on Skalda Street.
At the scene, law enforcement officers conducted urgent, priority search operations and "hot-footed" quickly identified the offenders, the police said.
“They turned out to be three local residents, aged 23. The police seized material evidence of the involvement of Chernivtsi residents in illegal actions,” the report says.
The specified fact was reported to the ERDR under Part 1 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
