In December 2024, 1,290 cases of tuberculosis were registered in Ukraine, of which 998 were new. During the same period, 1196 patients were successfully cured of the disease. This was reported by the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health.
According to the Center, among the registered cases there were 236 patients with a relapse of the disease and 56 people who resumed treatment or had an unknown history of previous treatment. A drug-resistant form of tuberculosis was detected in 216 people.
Out of the total number of patients, 1,217 patients had pulmonary tuberculosis, and 73 had extrapulmonary tuberculosis. There are 998 men and 292 women among the patients. Also, 189 patients had HIV-positive status.
These data indicate the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, because despite the increase in new cases, a significant number of patients were able to completely overcome the disease.
