The relevant services are actively working to restore power supply in Kharkiv after serious damage caused by enemy strikes on the city's energy infrastructure. The city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, reported this, noting that due to power outages, the movement of metro trains was temporarily suspended. However, some tram and trolleybus routes have been restored, and municipal buses continue to transport passengers around the city.
“Today there was serious damage to the energy system that powers Kharkiv. Our utilities, together with energy companies, are working to restore power supply. In fact, this does not mean that there is no electricity in the entire city, but there are certain difficulties. To ensure a stable energy supply to the city, there is a critical lack of voltage in the networks,” Terekhov explained.
He also emphasized that residential buildings were damaged as a result of enemy attacks, and municipal services are working to correct the consequences of the shelling, including inspecting roofs for damage.
The mayor also expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Kharkiv from other cities of Ukraine. “For example, today we received assistance from Transcarpathia, and I express my sincere gratitude for this support. In these difficult times, all cities and regions have united to help us,” Igor Terekhov emphasized.
