The State Bureau of Investigation reported the detention of two servicemen from the Kharkiv region and their civilian accomplice, who are suspected of stealing diesel fuel from a military unit. According to the investigation, the suspects falsified reporting data on the unit's routes, creating "surpluses" of unused fuel, after which they sold it in large batches in the region at 35 UAH per liter. Three sales of 8 tons each were documented - a total of 24 tons for almost 1 million UAH.
During the implementation of the third batch, all three were detained. Searches were conducted at their residences and in their cars: significant amounts of cash, documentation on fuel movements, draft records with the volumes and "distribution" of funds, two vehicles, as well as devices for falsifying mileage were seized.
The defendants were charged under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft of military property under martial law, as part of a group). The court chose a preventive measure — detention. The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment. The stolen fuel will be returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
