In the Khmelnytskyi region, the KORD unit detained a man who shot at two official vehicles and wounded a policeman and a civilian.
According to the Communications Department of the National Police, the incident occurred on September 14 at around 1 a.m. in the village of Oleshin, Khmelnytskyi territorial community. The special operation was conducted after a local resident opened fire with a Kalashnikov assault rifle at police officers and their service vehicles.
The incident began when a patrol police response team stopped a car for a check during curfew. It turned out that the driver was under the influence of alcohol - the Dräger showed 1.27 ppm of alcohol in the blood.
After drawing up the report, the driver went home, leaving his friend in the car. He soon returned to the scene with a machine gun and began shooting at the police. Accordingly, law enforcement officers returned fire and called for reinforcements.
A police officer and a civilian were injured in the attack. The attacker was detained as part of a special operation by the KORD unit.
At the moment, investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
