In Khmelnytskyi region, a woman robbed an 80-year-old pensioner

A court in Khmelnytskyi region has sentenced a 37-year-old woman who robbed an 80-year-old pensioner. According to the regional police, the female offender stole $2,200 from the man and received 5 years in prison.

The incident occurred in January of this year in one of the villages of the Medzhybizh territorial community. The pensioner told law enforcement officers that all his savings had disappeared. It turned out that two acquaintances had been visiting him the day before. When the owner fell asleep, a 37-year-old woman who helped him with the housework and knew where the money was kept decided to take advantage of the situation.

She stole $2,200, despite another guest trying to stop her. After the crime, the offender left, having already spent some of the money. The police quickly found and detained her, seizing the rest of the money.

The court found the woman guilty under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery committed under martial law) and sentenced her to 5 years in prison.
