For the holiday of Epiphany, the Kyiv city government has announced 11 official places for traditional bathing. These locations have been prepared taking into account safety requirements and sanitary standards. Rescuers and medics will be on duty there during the celebrations.
For the safety of citizens in Kyiv on January 6, rescuers and medical support will reportedly be on duty at the following locations:
- Lake Verbne;
- Obolonsky Island;
- beaches “Dityachy”, “Venezia”, “Central”, “Telbin”, “Troyeshchyna”, “Rainbow”, “Pushcha-Vodytsia”, “Natalka”, “Galerny”, “Veselka”.
KP "Pleso" emphasizes that the beaches and reservoirs of the capital are regularly checked for compliance with sanitary standards. To minimize the risk of injury, the company's divers examined the bottom of the reservoirs at all locations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine advises to follow safe practices when diving in cold water, including diving only in specially designated areas.
