Kyiv has started active preparations for the upcoming elections, as confirmed by a letter from one of the district administrations to the city's schools and universities. In the document, a copy of which has been leaked online, the district authorities ask educational institutions to update information about premises available for voting, as well as the arrangement of polling stations.
According to this request, schools and universities must provide information on the accessibility of premises for persons with disabilities and low-mobility groups, which is an important aspect of the organization of the electoral process. The letter also states that such data must be updated by March 2025, and for this it is necessary to fill out a special form, which is attached to the email.
This document has given rise to rumors that the election campaign has already begun in Kyiv. Although public comments, including from Vitali Klitschko, refute these assumptions, experts note that preparations for the elections are already underway at an active pace.
On February 14, Kyiv housing and utilities expert Oleg Popenko reported on a meeting of the “electoral active” that involved school principals. This indicates the beginning of the preparation of election commissions, which are usually formed from among educators.
