In the capital, law enforcement officers reported suspicions to two Azerbaijani citizens who attacked a Turkish citizen with a knife in order to seize his money and phones. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
Having learned in advance that the man would receive a significant amount of money, the attackers began to follow him. In the evening, wearing balaclavas, they attacked the victim on the street and, threatening him with a knife, wounded him in the leg.
They then took $4,500 and two mobile phones, fled the scene, left their belongings in a rented apartment in Kyiv, and attempted to escape by train to Khmelnytskyi. However, they were detained by police in Khmelnytskyi.
The court chose for both of them a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.
The suspects are charged with armed robbery committed by a group of people in a premeditated conspiracy. They face 8 to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
