In Lviv region, law enforcement officers detained a former deputy who organized a scheme to evade mobilization for military conscripts. The cost of such "services" was 5,500 US dollars.
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, have stopped another illegal draft evasion scheme. The organizer was a former deputy who previously headed a utility company in the Stryi district.
According to the investigation, the suspect promised to influence officials of the district territorial recruitment and social support center. In exchange for money, he guaranteed the removal of the conscript from the wanted list and the "renewal" of military registration documents.
In addition, the former official assured that he could negotiate with members of the military medical commission to formally pass the VLK without further mobilization. Thus, the conscript would have the opportunity to officially find employment, register for a reservation, and avoid being drafted into the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The cost of the full package of "services" was $5,500. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect while receiving part of the illegal gain — 153,000 hryvnias.
The former MP was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - abuse of influence. The court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail.
Investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all individuals involved in the operation of this corruption scheme.
