A scheme for smuggling contraband was exposed in the Lviv region

In the village of Mostyska Drugi in the Lviv region, a large-scale scheme of smuggling agricultural products through the logistics terminal of Mostyska Dry Port LLC was uncovered. This is evidenced by the materials of the criminal proceedings.

The scheme consisted of transshipment of products purchased for cash without accounting and their subsequent export outside Ukraine through fictitious agreements with foreign companies. In November 2024, during searches at the terminal, BEB investigators seized over 880 tons of sunflower meal and over 1,600 tons of sunflower oil, some of which had no documentary evidence.

The investigation revealed that the products were purchased for cash from real producers, but were not reflected in tax and accounting reports. The oil, for example, was officially "sold" by the company "Vic Sun Oil" LLC, but the invoice was dated only December 3 - nineteen days after the search.

A similar situation exists with the suppliers of meal - the company "Newnit" LLC from Vyshneve and "Flagman Seed" LLC, which the State Tax Service recognized as "risky" back in November. The reasons are the lack of any conditions for the implementation of the declared volumes and a suspicious procurement history.

Bernardgroup from Poland claims that it purchased the products legally, in particular through Santa Maria Corp LLC, which, as it turned out, did not purchase raw materials and did not register tax invoices. At the same time, Bernardgroup itself does not have a representative office in Ukraine and is not registered with the tax authorities, that is, it acted outside the legal framework.

According to the investigation, there are no official documents for transshipment and storage services, which further heightens suspicions about the actions of Mostyska Dry Port.

The court seized only the goods – meal and oil, and not the containers themselves, since their owners were not involved in the case. The representative of Bernardgroup tried to prove that the company acted legally, but the documents looked dubious. The representative of Flagman Seed ignored the meeting altogether.

The case continues to be investigated, and Mostyska Dry Port has meanwhile found itself at the center of one of the largest agro-smuggling schemes in western Ukraine.
