In Kyiv, animal rights activists seized a wolf from an apartment in Obolon after the animal attacked its owner. According to the Wild Animals Rescue Center, the call came due to the dangerous behavior of the predator, which the woman had been keeping in unsuitable conditions for a long time.
As a result of the attack, the woman received serious injuries: the wolf tore off her arm and bit her thigh. The police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (cruel treatment of animals).
During the investigation, a fox corpse was also found in the apartment. It is previously known that the woman purchased both predators online and kept them in conditions unsuitable for wild animals.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. In addition, the police plan to contact the relevant services to determine the further maintenance of other animals in the apartment.
