The seasonal speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour has been restored in the capital since November 1. This was reported by the Kyiv Traffic Management Center.
The changes have been implemented on major urban highways, where faster speeds were allowed during the warmer months. The speed limit of 50 km/h is now in effect on the following sections:
-
Naberezhne highway (from Poshtova Square to Naddnipryansky highway);
-
Roman Shukhevych Avenue (from the Northern Bridge to Honore de Balzac Street);
-
Stepana Bandera Avenue (from Yordanskaya Street to the Northern Bridge);
-
Naberezhno-Rybalska Street (in the direction from Elektrykiv Street to the Havana Bridge).
Experts have completed updating road signs that inform drivers of new restrictions. Speed reductions are traditionally introduced in the autumn-winter period, when precipitation increases, daylight hours shorten, and visibility conditions worsen.
Drivers are urged to be careful and follow traffic rules, including speed limits, to avoid accidents.
For exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h, a fine of 340 hryvnias is provided, and for exceeding 50 km/h - 1,700 hryvnias.
