In Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers detained an official of the district military administration on suspicion of extorting an illegal benefit in the amount of 1,500 US dollars. The official demanded money for issuing permits for the construction of a recreation complex in the Khmelnytskyi district.
According to the investigation, in September 2025, the official offered to "help" the entrepreneur with the preparation and receipt of urban planning conditions and restrictions for construction. At first, he demanded $2,000, but the entrepreneur refused and submitted the documents through the developers of technical documentation.
After a second appeal to the RBA, the official reported that the package of documents was incomplete and offered to "resolve" the issue for $1,500. Realizing that there was no other way to obtain permits, the entrepreneur agreed and later turned to law enforcement.
In January 2026, the official was detained while transferring funds. The issue of imposing a preventive measure on him and removing him from office is currently being considered.
He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to 3 years.
