A workshop for forging driver's licenses and registration documents was exposed in the Khmelnytskyi region

Law enforcement officers in the Khmelnytskyi region have exposed a 37-year-old local resident who organized the underground production of fake driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates. He faces up to seven years in prison for the crime, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reports.

According to the investigation, the attacker set up a production line at home and accepted orders via the Telegram messenger. The finished documents were sent by mail throughout Ukraine. In addition, the resident of Khmelnytskyi region offered "services" for processing documents for allegedly studying at a driving school.

To avoid detection, the fraudster sent documents under fictitious names and regularly changed the bank cards he used to receive payments.

During the searches, police seized equipment for making fake documents, printing tools, mobile phones, as well as $75,000 and evidence of the crime.

A resident of the Khmelnytskyi region was charged under Part 1 of Article 199, Parts 1 and 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery, production and sale of documents with holographic security features). The articles carry a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
