In the Odessa region, a bribe was demanded for transferring a serviceman from the front line

A scandal has erupted in the Odessa region related to the extortion of a bribe for transferring a serviceman from the front line to the rear.

According to the investigation, the sergeant major received an illegal benefit of $4,500 from an active serviceman of one of the “combat” units through an intermediary. For this amount, the officer was supposed to organize the transfer of the serviceman from the front line to a rear military unit.

Law enforcement officers detained the sergeant on June 25, right at the moment of transferring the entire bribe amount. The suspect was remanded in custody with the option of bail in the amount of 605,600 hryvnias.
