In Poltava region, police have identified a group of minors involved in the beating of a boy in the basement of a residential building. The incident caused a wide resonance in the region, and law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Hooliganism”). This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Poltava region
The police in Horishni Plavny reportedly received a report from a local resident that her minor son was injured by a group of people in the basement of a residential building.
As reported online, a video of the incident was posted on social media.
According to police, the injured boy was examined by doctors and is currently receiving treatment.
The police, as indicated, have identified the individuals involved in the offense. “They turned out to be local minors,” the police reported.
This fact is being investigated by criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Article 296 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years or imprisonment for a term of up to four years.
