In Transcarpathia, a doctor sold fictitious certificates to delay mobilization

In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers blocked a scheme for illegal travel abroad by military conscripts, the SBU Department in the region reports.

According to the investigation, a 31-year-old local resident with a previous conviction, together with an infectious disease doctor he knew from one of the district clinics, was looking for men who wanted to avoid mobilization. For 7 thousand US dollars per person, the organizer “guaranteed” the production of fictitious medical certificates about chronic incurable diseases. On the basis of such documents, the evaders received a deferral from mobilization and could travel abroad without hindrance.

SBU operatives detained the doctor while he was receiving $3,000 for issuing "fake" certificates, and the organizer of the scheme near the district clinic. The case materials have already been transferred to the court, where both defendants face criminal liability.
