The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has announced temporary changes in the work of the Solotvino - Sighetu-Marmației checkpoint on the border with Romania. The changes concern the registration of vehicles and are related to repair work on the bridge over the Tisza River.
According to the Romanian side, starting from July 7 and ending on September 3, vehicle registration will be periodically suspended on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9:00 to 15:00. The reason is the reconstruction of the bridge, which will last approximately 62 days.
The restrictions do not apply to pedestrians - pedestrian traffic will operate as usual.
Border guards urge drivers to plan trips in advance and take into account changes in traffic organization. Alternative routes through other checkpoints in Transcarpathia remain open.
