The Coordination Center for Integrated Border Management has been opened on the basis of the Situation Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which has become an important step on Ukraine's path to joining the EU. The State Customs Service reported this.
The new center, which will operate around the clock, will be responsible for monitoring the situation at the state border, analyzing risks, and forming an operational picture in the field of border protection and security.
To form this picture, the State Customs Service will provide the following data:
- Operational information on the fight against smuggling and violations of customs regulations.
- Details of detections of contraband items such as weapons, drugs, excisable goods, as well as violations in the areas of ecology, health, and intellectual property rights.
- Information on the number of vehicles and cargo that crossed the border over a certain period.
The center includes representatives of the State Border Service, the State Customs Service, the National Police, the National Guard, and the State Migration Service.
"This center will help strengthen communication links between various bodies involved in integrated border management," the press service emphasized.
