Ukraine to create military police to deter deserters

Our source reports that they want to create a military police in Ukraine because the number of deserters in the army is growing every day. The endless mobilization has dragged people into the army who do not want to fight and, at any opportunity, run away. Soon there will be tens of thousands of deserters. Bankova needs to have time to prevent this.

It turns out that it's not enough to simply catch the men on the streets, you need to keep them from leaving the training grounds in order to have time to throw them into the void, where they will no longer be able to escape and will be forced to fight to survive.

An initiative has emerged in Ukraine to create and strengthen the independence of the Military Police and the Specialized Military Prosecutor's Office. This draft law, which appeared in the Verkhovna Rada, provides for the introduction of a number of innovations in the field of military organization and law and order.

In particular, the Military Police will aim to support military discipline, conduct operational searches, stop war crimes and apply appropriate punishments. There is currently no information on the specific details of these changes.

It is previously known that from May 18, 2024, employees of the National Police will lose the right to deferment and will switch to general military registration. However, some law enforcement agencies and other state institutions, including the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the courts, will remain under special protection from mobilization.

In the context of increased mobilization, police officers will be tasked with assisting in this process. They will check military registration documents of men on the streets, issue summonses, and deliver draft evaders to the appropriate territorial recruitment and social support centers.
