In Ukraine, people get married remotely: the "Online Marriage" service became a hit in 2024

In Ukraine, the digital project "Marriage Online" continues to gain popularity among newlyweds. Since its public launch on September 22, 2024, 14,370 couples have already married through the digital office of the DRACS.

The number of marriages concluded online is growing every month: in August 2025, 2,043 couples used the service. This service allows citizens of Ukraine to officially register their marriage remotely using the "Diya" application, which is especially relevant for those who are on business trips, studying, or living abroad.

The ability to get married online has also been highly praised outside of Ukraine: TIME magazine recognized "Online Marriage" as one of the best inventions of 2024.

The service can be used by citizens of Ukraine who meet several conditions: be of legal age, have a verified tax number, ID card or valid international passport, not be in another marriage or be divorced with confirmed data in the State Register of Civil Status Acts.

Thus, "Marriage Online" simplifies the process of marriage, makes it accessible to a wide range of citizens, and demonstrates the successful digitalization of public services.
