The State Tax Service is warning Ukrainians about a new wave of fraudulent emails that are supposedly coming from official State Tax Service addresses. In fact, these messages are part of a phishing attack - they contain malicious files that, if opened, could give attackers full remote access to your computer.
This was announced by the head of the State Tax Service Ruslan Kravchenko. According to him, the tax service has already received dozens of complaints from taxpayers from different regions.
"Attention! The State Tax Service has nothing to do with this mailing list! All official State Tax Service email addresses must contain the domain name "tax.gov.ua" after the "@" symbol," the institution emphasized.
PDF attachments are particularly dangerous. When opened, they automatically install malware on the device, which provides access to files, programs, and even online banking.
The Tax Service urges Ukrainians to be careful and not open suspicious emails. In case of suspicion, it is recommended to contact the State Tax Service directly, as well as report incidents to the cyber police.
